China witnesses the launch of OnePlus 12 5G featuring Snapdragon Gen 3 Chipset: Price, Specifications revealed

The Chinese technology giant OnePlus has launched its top-of-the-line smartphone OnePlus 12 5G in its home country. The smartphone packs top-of-the-line features and specs like Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Gen 3 chipset, a 2K AMOLED LTPO display, a sizable 5,400mAh battery that supports 100W charging, and more.

OnePlus 12 price, color options and availability

The OnePlus 12 is available for pre-order in China starting at 4,299 Yuan for the base variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage (roughly Rs 50,700). The smartphone has the color options Leave blank (white), green and Iwaguro (black). While the company has announced a global launch in early 2024, there is no word yet on the pricing of the Indian model.

OnePlus 12 specifications

OnePlus’ successor comes with a 6.82-inch 2K Super Fluid AMOLED display with LTPO, which has an incredible peak brightness of 4500 nits. It includes support for Dolby Vision, HDR 10+ and HDR Vivid and has a 120Hz refresh rate. The OnePlus 12 screen has received DisplayMate’s A+ certificate, which indicates excellent color accuracy and brightness.

OnePlus 12 features Qualcomm’s latest chipset – the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, which offers faster Kryo CPU (30 percent improvement) and GPU (25 percent improvement) speeds with improved power efficiency. It is equipped with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 ROM supported by RAM-Vitalization and ROM-Vitalization.

The smartphone runs ColorOS 14 based on Android 14 and packs a large 5,400mAh battery that supports 100W charging and 50W wireless charging. The company claims that the OnePlus 12 has the largest cooling system of any OnePlus device, which might help if you play games or perform intensive tasks on the phone for a long time.

In terms of camera specs, the OnePlus 12 has a triple camera setup at the back consisting of a 50MP primary sensor that uses the Sony LYT-808 with support for Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). It also includes a 64-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. For selfies and video calls, the premium phone has a 32-megapixel front-facing shooter. It also has the latest self-developed HDR algorithm.
