There is no confirmation that its latest smartphone, Phone (2a) will be manufactured in India.
With the move, the company said it aims to harness the country’s rich manufacturing ecosystem while investing in the local economy and creating job opportunities.
“Designed for India, the Nothing Phone (2a) is designed to provide the optimal everyday smartphone experience, doubling down on core user needs and bringing together all of Nothing’s design innovations, expertise and craftsmanship,” Nothing said.
“The (2a) phone leverages some of the most loved features of the (2) phone, ensuring a clear upgrade over the (1) phone across the board,” it added.
Nothing had set up its first global exclusive service center last year in Bengaluru.
The company is set to launch the Phone (2a) in India on March 5. The event will be broadcast live from a one-on-one meeting in Delhi. Nothing has also announced Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh as a smartphone brand.
The phone (2a) has a custom Dimensity 7200 Pro processor designed in collaboration with MediaTek to deliver the best performance with optimal power consumption. According to reports, the Phone 2a could be priced under Rs 30,000 in India.
Founded in 2020, Nothing has so far released three audio products, two smartphones, and since September last year, a sub-brand: CMF by Nothing.
