This Country Prohibits iPhone and iPad Usage For Certain Individuals
Apple sells millions of iPhones and iPads every year, but there are a few countries where the sale of the company’s products is difficult or even prohibited. Brazil had banned iPhone sales until Apple decided to offer a charger in the box, and now Russia is the latest country to take action against Apple’s devices, but for a different reason.
The Russian ministry has specifically asked its employees to stop using iPhones or iPads for work applications and e-mail.
These people can use the devices for their personal needs. Russia’s security service believes the US has compromised Apple devices, prompting the country to ban their government use. Apple has denied these charges, while the US National Security Agency did not comment on the matter, as cited by Reuters.
The connections between Apple and US security are understandable from Russia, which continues to accuse the country of various means of hijacking its network. Apple definitely regrets the decision, which could hurt its business in a region that has already suffered due to the war between Russia and Ukraine that has lasted for more than a year.
Apple had decided to end its business in the country, but Russia made its own move, accusing the company of not removing inaccurate content from the Russian military operation in Ukraine, and even punishing the company for this strategy.
In other Apple news, the company is less than a month away from launching the new iPhone 15 series, which is expected to be announced at an event on September 12, according to reports. Apple may also have an all-new iPhone SE model for buyers, which should hit the market early next year.
