No details leaked about the camera specifications of the Nothing Phone 2a; possible inclusion of a dual 50MP setup.
Nothing, the London-based startup founded by Carl Pei, plans to unveil its third smartphone, the Nothing Phone 2a, at Mobile World Congress 2024. This would follow the Nothing Phone 2 and Nothing Phone 1 released in 2024. 2022 and 2023, respectively.
The Nothing Phone 2a is expected to be a mid-range device that will be more affordable than the outgoing Nothing Phone 2. And now the phone has been leaked several times thanks to a new report from Smartprix.
In collaboration with tipster Kamila, the publication revealed the device’s alleged camera specifications. It is expected to have a dual camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel Samsung S5KGN9 sensor with a 1/1.5-inch sensor size and 1.0-micron pixel size. The secondary ultra-wide-angle lens, on the other hand, can be a 50-megapixel Samsung S5KJN1 ultra-wide-angle lens with a 1/2.76-inch sensor size. It’s worth noting that even the Nothing Phone 2 has the same sensor, so the Nothing isn’t really on top.
On the selfie front, Smartprix claims the Nothing Phone 2 might get the 32-megapixel Sony IMX615X that the OnePlus 10 also featured.
In terms of performance, the device is rumored to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chip and features an OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. As for availability, the report suggests that there could be multiple variants of the Nothing Phone 2a in different regions, which could point to a wider release. In addition, the device is rumored to be available in black and white colors.
However, keep in mind that these specs may not be final yet as they are just unconfirmed rumours, so take them with a grain of salt. Still, hype and rumors are starting to build around Nothing’s third phone. We’ll see how much of that is true when it’s released in the near future.
