All Details of Vivo X100 Pro and Vivo X100 Launch: ZEISS Cameras, Dimensity 9300 Chip Revealed
Leading smartphone brand Vivo begins its 2024 journey in India by launching its flagship Vivo X100 series – Vivo X100 Pro and X100. Both smartphones focus on providing superior camera experience with new algorithms and Zeiss lens. The Vivo X100 Pro variant aims to take on premium Android flagships from brands like Samsung, OnePlus, Oppo and others, focusing on two key aspects – making zooming useful on smartphone cameras and easy portraits so the user doesn’t have to juggle. from the camera settings. Another important aspect is that there is a new apochromatic ZEISS telephoto lens that allows users to take high-quality portraits with up to 10x zoom.
Vivo X100 Pro specifications
The Vivo X100 Pro has a 6.78-inch 3D Curved AMOLED FHD+ with a variable refresh rate of 120 Hz. Vivo uses an 8T LTPO panel. Vivo has introduced newer technology to provide a better viewing experience as well as eye protection features.
For the first time, there is V-ProMotion technology, which adjusts the frame rate of the screen according to user preferences. LTPO screen refresh rate optimization provides more scenes at 1Hz, which reduces power consumption and optimizes GPU frame rate and reduces screen lag. Eye protection features include blue light control and 2160 Hz high-frequency dimming. The display has a fingerprint sensor.
The Vivo X100 Pro is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset with a new V3 imaging chip, G720 GPU and 10MB system cache. The chipset is based on the new Armv9.2 architecture. It has 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal memory.
Camera-wise, there are three on the back – Main: 50 MP IMX989, OIS, 1-inch sensor; Ultra Wide – 50MP JN1 AF; Portrait – 50MP OV64B, 4X optical 100X floating telephoto ZEISS powered by V3 imaging chip.
Vivo has paid a lot of attention to the phone’s zoom camera and delivered a 100mm ZEISS APO floating periscope camera with it. Well, that’s too much jargon! APO stands for “apochromatic lens”. What does it do? Apochromatic lenses (APO) claim to offer the best color correction capabilities. This means that the red flower you are trying to click in direct sunlight will not have any hints of orange or yellow. Colors are accurate because APO controls chromatic aberration.
Another aspect is the “floating camera”. What is it? This is quite different from a traditional periscope camera, and the floating periscope telephoto lens places the lens in front of the prism to form a grouped structure. According to Vivo’s floating periscope design and ZEISS APO lens, the camera is able to offer an f/2.5 aperture in the same size, allowing for good image quality whether it’s a 6x or 10x scenario zoom and even in low light. The new stabilization system also helps users take better zoom shots. In addition to this, there is a 15 mm ultra-wide-angle camera with an ISOCELL JN1 sensor and an f/2.0 aperture.
For selfies, there is a 32-megapixel fixed focus camera with night and portrait modes. The Vivo X100Pro is powered by a 5,400mAh battery with 100W FlashCharge and 50W wireless support. The device is IP68 dust and waterproof and supports Wi-Fi 7. It has Dual Nano SIM card slots and eSIM support.

The Vivo X100 has similar specifications, but the camera, battery capacity and imaging chip are different. Instead of the flagship camera of Vivo X100 Pro, the sibling comes with Main – 50 MP VCS IMX920, f/1.57, OIS; Ultra Wide – 50MP JN1 AF; Portrait – 64MP OV64B, 3X Optical 100X Digital (Telephoto) ZEISS.
