Elon Musk Reports Increase in Global Twitter Usage of 3.5% in Last Week
Elon Musk has revealed the statistics on the rise of “Total User Active Seconds” on Twitter, indicating a global increase of 3.5 percent in usage from week to week.
“Platform usage increased by 3.5 percent per week,” he tweeted late Friday, with an attached image showing data on Twitter usage.
According to the data he shared on the page, the majority of active users – nearly 87 percent of people – used the platform on a mobile device.
The United Kingdom had the most active seconds of users on Twitter, with 7.2 percent, followed by Japan with 5.7 percent.
Seeing Japan’s numbers so high, a user commented on Musk’s post: “Is Twitter really bigger in Japan than in the US?” He replied, “Yeah, about three times the per capita use in the United States.”
Another user commented: “Wow. Mobile is 87.6 percent of active seconds. If that’s the case, I’d recommend prioritizing mobile development over desktop.”
At the same time, Twitter has launched a new ad revenue sharing program for content creators and has also started paying huge sums. “We are implementing an initial group that will be invited to accept the payment,” the platform announced.
On Twitter, many content creators shared how much money they received from the microblogging platform through the new program. While one creator received $37,050, another creator received $11,820. One content creator received up to $69,420 through the ad revenue program.
