Explore the Latest Developments in AI: AI Education, Fake Reviews, and More

Today has been a highly eventful day in the world of AI! Notably, Hollywood actors have united with screenwriters in an unprecedented strike concerning wages. Additionally, young professionals are placing great importance on enhancing their AI skills to remain relevant in the job market. Furthermore, Elon Musk has announced his intention to train his xAI using public tweets, among other developments.

1. Let’s start a free online AI training program in Indian languages

On World Youth Day, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has launched AI for India 2.0, a free AI training program in Indian languages. The goal of the collaboration program between Skill India and GUVI is to provide advanced skills to the youth. Incubating at IIT Madras, startup GUVI offers technical learning in vernacular languages. The course is available in nine Indian languages and aims to break the language barrier, especially in the technology education of rural youth. Highlighting India’s technological prowess, Pradhan praised GUVI for enabling the population to access cutting-edge technology.

2. Young professionals prioritize the improvement of artificial intelligence skills in terms of the importance of the labor market

A survey conducted by Apna.co reveals that a large proportion of young professionals understand the importance of developing artificial intelligence (AI) skills in terms of the importance of the job market. Around 80% of respondents believe that acquiring AI skills will provide a competitive advantage and open doors to exciting job opportunities. The findings show that Indian youth increasingly recognize the importance of upskilling to remain competitive and secure rewarding career opportunities. The report shows that many respondents have taken proactive steps to participate in such initiatives, demonstrating their commitment to personal and professional growth.

3. Fake AI reviews

As artificial intelligence explodes, fake reviews have flooded the web and ordinary readers are left at best ignorant and at worst completely misinformed and lied to, says a report published by the Guardian today. Earlier, these fake reviews could be easily identified, but now AI generated reviews are much more subtle and sophisticated and can easily convince anyone of their authenticity. And that can prove disastrous for those who believe these reviews and actually act on them.

4. Elon Musk plans to train xAI using public tweets

Elon Musk’s new artificial intelligence company, xAI, reportedly uses Twitter’s public tweets to train its artificial intelligence models. Musk, who owns Twitter and runs Tesla, said in a Twitter Spaces chat that his companies’ collaboration could be mutually beneficial and advance Tesla’s self-driving capabilities. He criticized other AI companies for not considering human risks in developing the technology. He added that xAI aims to improve our understanding of the universe and provide an alternative to Microsoft, Google and OpenAI in achieving general artificial intelligence. Musk also claimed that all AI companies are illegally training their models using Twitter data.

5. Hollywood actors join screenwriters in historic strike over pay and threat of artificial intelligence

Hollywood actors have joined the screenwriters’ protests, marking the first industry-wide walkout in 63 years. The Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) issued a strike order after failed negotiations with studios over falling wages and the threat artificial intelligence posed to their livelihoods. The strike halts film and television production, which could delay popular TV series and major movies.
