Elon Musk says “sorry” Twitter takes up so much space on phones
Elon Musk, the outgoing CEO of Twitter, apologized to users on Sunday that his platform takes up extra space on smartphones.
Musk shared a screenshot where the Twitter app was seen taking up 9.52GB of space on the phone.
“Sorry, this app takes up a lot of space,” he commented in a tweet.
According to Musk, Twitter usage has gone “ballistic” since the changes he made to the platform, and the “digital town square” has a lot of engagement.
In March, Musk said the platform was growing rapidly.
He wrote on Twitter: “Over 8 billion minutes a day used by the most powerful and intelligent people on earth.”
Musk also said that the platform will continue to prioritize responses from followers, verified accounts and unverified accounts in the coming weeks.
Musk recently said that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ 2024 US presidential bid for Twitter Spaces’ technical “fiasco” was actually “the most important story in the world.”
Responding to how mainstream media portrayed the tech disruption, Musk said, “I call it mindfulness. The most important story on Earth today.”
“We welcome all presidential candidates to this forum,” he added.
The live event will be hosted by Musk and tech entrepreneur David Sachs.
