Exchange Value of iPhone 14 Pro When Upgrading to iPhone 15 Pro
With Apple’s Wonderlust event over, we now have all the details on the new iPhone 15 lineup, which includes the iPhone Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the regular iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
Notably, the pre-orders for these devices have already started and Apple has also revealed the prices for the Indian market.
If you’re considering an iPhone 15 Pro upgrade and want to trade in your old iPhone 14 Pro, here’s the trade-in value offered by Apple:
The Apple iPhone 15 Pro is priced at Rs 1,34,900 for the base 128GB variant in India. It is available for purchase on Apple’s official website in India and at two official stores – Apple BKC in Mumbai and Apple Saket in New Delhi.
We tried to swap the 1TB variant of last year’s flagship iPhone 14 Pro, which was priced at Rs 1,79,900 in India before the iPhone 15 Pro was launched. After entering the relevant details on the Apple India website for iPhone 15 Pro 128GB exchange, Apple promised an exchange value of just Rs 64,500.
This is Rs 1,15,400 less than the sticker price and represents just 35.85% of the original price paid. It is important to note that this Rs 64,500 is the price offered by Apple on its website for a phone that is like new and free of major cracks, chips and scratches.
This is sure to disappoint current iPhone 14 Pro owners who are waiting to upgrade to the iPhone 15 Pro. That’s a far cry from the trade-in value offered by Apple in the US.
We also tried to exchange for other versions of the same device, including the iPhone 15 Pro Max and even the regular iPhone 15 models, but the maximum value offered by Apple for the iPhone 14 Pro 1TB variant remained at Rs 64,500.
Also, Apple specifically states on its website that the maximum price it will offer for the new iPhones is ₹67,800. Therefore, even if you trade in the top-of-the-line iPhone 14 Pro Max 1TB unit, you’ll still get just Rs 67,800.
We also tried to trade in the iPhone 14 Pro Max 256GB version, and here again Apple’s website returned a value that would disappoint most trade-in enthusiasts. Apple would give Rs 58,000 for the said unit.
The Apple 14 Pro Max 256GB variant was launched with a sticker price of Rs 1,49,900 and the trade-in value (Rs 58,000) offered by Apple is just 38.69% of the MSRP.
Despite this, the iPhone 15 series will be available in Indian stores from September 22, which is the same as the global launch.
