According to Metro’s report, the VR headset was worn by a scrub nurse whose task is to prepare all the necessary instruments and equipment for surgery. That’s why the nurse kept a record of the right tools throughout the surgery and provided information from Vision Pro. Suvi Verho, lead scrub nurse at the London Independent Hospital, said the technology is a “game changer” and “It eliminates human error. It removes the guesswork.”
Surgeon Syed Aftab emphasized that the nurse saw the entire operation plan and the instructions given by the device felt like she was working with someone with ten years of experience. Surgeons use an app designed by US-based company Exes, which specializes in developing artificial intelligence software. The app was also used by neurosurgeon Robert Masson, who claimed it made the process “effortless”. Aftab also expressed optimism about the software and what it can do for the healthcare industry. While Vision Pro was used for surgery, Apple also announced that healthcare developers are now developing applications for VisionOS that will change the healthcare industry in many ways, such as “clinical training, surgical planning, education, medical imaging, behavioral research” health and more.” The technology gives doctors and advanced knowledge for nurses and the correct procedure to perform surgery and much more.
