Generate Images With Google’s AI-Powered Search Tool

Google now brings the power of generative AI to search, which can generate AI images from any request. Google basically explains that many of you have situations where you know what you want in an image, but you can’t even find it on Google.

There, Generative AI powered search helps you provide the right prompt to create the perfect image you need. “So starting today, we’re rolling out the ability to generate images using our generative AI powered search experience (SGE),” Google writes in this post. Google is rolling out the AI feature to search users on an experimental basis, which means that the use of this tool is limited to certain markets for now.

The company also makes it easy to create images using Generative AI by offering a built-in feature in the Google Photos tab. “This feature is designed to appear when you search for inspiration such as ‘minimalist halloween table tops’ or ‘scary dog house ideas,'” the post adds.

There’s no doubt that Google is late to the AI party, with the likes of Microsoft benefiting from their investment in OpenAI, which has already ported ChatGPT to Bing and even the Edge browser. People have been able to create images, get answers to their queries with the AI chatbot, which has now moved to version 4.0 and is also available with added security in the business version.

But Google is clearly in no rush to chase or match its competitors as it wants to bring AI to the public in a responsible way. “We are building safeguards into this experience and will prevent the creation of images that violate our generative AI Prohibited Use Policies, including harmful or misleading content,” the post states.

In fact, the company is currently restricting access to Generative AI avatar search to English-speaking users in the US, and you’ll need to sign up for an SGE trial and be at least 18 years old to try this new version of Search on mobile or desktop.
