Google Chrome URL Bar Now Available at Bottom of iPhone Screens

iPhone users using Google Chrome can now move the Chrome address bar to the bottom of their device’s screen. This change is in line with the design change Apple made in Safari last year.

Early signs of the feature were spotted in a beta version of the browser earlier this year, but now it’s getting a wide release. According to a MacRumors report, Chrome for iOS allows users to customize the placement of the URL bar at the top or bottom of the interface, depending on where the user wants it to be.

US tech giant Google has introduced this feature due to repeated requests from Chrome users.

This is how to move down the URL bar in Google Chrome

– To move the Chrome address bar down, users can long press on it and select the Move Address Bar Down option.

– Users can also go to the Settings menu and select “address bar” to change the location of the bar.

Google is officially adding the option a couple of years after Apple introduced a similar feature in its own Safari browser in iOS 15.

At the same time, Google also released new accessibility features and updates to Maps, Search and Chrome to help people complete their daily tasks faster and easier.

The new disabled community identity attribute is now available in Google Maps and Hau. It gives customers more information about the company and merchants can identify themselves as members of the community.

Lens in Maps (formerly Search with Live View) uses artificial intelligence and augmented reality to help people orient themselves in unfamiliar territory and discover new places using their phone’s camera.

To make this more accessible and useful for people who are blind or have low vision, Lens in Maps’ screen reader features are coming to iOS starting Tuesday and Android later this year.
