Google Considers Integrating Generative AI in Advertising Business
Google is reportedly planning to incorporate generative AI into its advertising operations in the coming months as major tech companies rush to adopt the technology.
According to the Financial Times, the tech giant is preparing to integrate its generative AI technology, which also powers its Bard chatbot, into the Performance Max program.
Performance Max is a program offered by Google since 2020 that uses an algorithm to determine where ads should be shown and how marketing budgets should be used, and produces simple ad copy.
Google currently uses AI in its advertising operations to generate simple suggestions that encourage people to buy things.
However, the report says it will be able to develop significantly more sophisticated ads similar to those created by marketing agencies when it incorporates its latest generative AI.
Additionally, the report mentioned that this technology allows advertisers to provide “creative” content such as images, videos and text related to a specific campaign. At the same time, Google is said to be developing a completely new search engine powered by artificial intelligence.
The company is currently developing a search service that aims to provide a highly personalized experience by anticipating users’ needs. The company is also developing a series of new AI features for its existing search engine, codenamed “Magi”.
