Google Photos Utilizes AI to Organize Your Gallery and Arrange Calendar
Google and AI have been in the news lately, and it’s time for AI-powered features to make their way into Photos. Google believes that its millions of users have a stacked photo library that could use some cleaning, and what better way to get AI to do the heavy lifting smartly and quickly.
The company’s latest use of artificial intelligence appears to remove images and videos and group them into a single folder. Similarly, if you have documents or screenshots in the library, AI will redirect them to another safe place. The whole point of this AI cleanup is to simplify your search in Google Images and reduce the time you spend scrolling through the right content. Photo Stacks is the biggest AI update for Photos users, who can now have one folder with all the photos you click at the same time.
So instead of seeing the shots repeated in the gallery, you can search for them in a single folder. Google also uses AI technology to place the best image at the top of the pile, again making it easier to find the best choice.
The good thing about the feature is that you can manually choose another photo as the top choice if you don’t like what the AI has chosen for you. It is important to know that Google does not use artificial intelligence to delete images, but only helps to clean up the application space.
In addition to photos, Google makes it easier to search for screenshots and documents such as IDs in an album called ID, but that’s not all. Photos can also get the date and time of your flight and add it to your calendar, so you don’t have to do that for all your events and travel plans. The new AI-powered photo features will be available for Android and iOS users in the coming weeks.
