Google Search Now Offers Skin Condition Detection and AI Model Clothes Try-Ons

Google has unveiled a range of new search updates, including features for travel planning and clothes shopping. Additionally, Lens, which was previously used for identifying plants and historical objects, can now identify skin abnormalities. By uploading a picture into Lens, users can view similar images to determine if they have a tick bite or other skin issues. However, it is important to consult with a doctor if there are any concerns about spots on the skin, as relying solely on Google searches can lead to unnecessary anxiety.

What’s more fun is that Google is also improving its search options to make it easier to find what you’re looking for in online stores. You can now search with filters such as style, color and pattern from different retailers. Then, when you find what you’re looking for, Google tries to solve the main problem with buying clothes online: the uncertainty of how they actually look on you. It’s releasing a new virtual try-on tool that shows how the same top would look in different designs. The program uses generative artificial intelligence technology to display the fit and appearance of the fabric. Right now, it’s only available when you buy tops from select retailers like H&M, Everlane, Anthropologie, and Loft.

Google is also releasing several new travel-related features. First, it expands the Immersive View tool, which allows you to explore a 3D model of the city to include Florence, Venice, Dublin, and Amsterdam. In addition, you can explore 500 other landmarks around the world. Immersive View already exists in different cities, such as Tokyo and New York, as well as hundreds of interesting attractions.

Whether you have an iOS or Android phone, Google is rolling out a feature that lets you track your journey right from your route overview or lock screen. “Visual instructions” provide ETA updates and instructions for walking, cycling or driving. The desktop version of Google Maps also updates “Recents” to improve trip planning and let you work on multiple routes at once by saving everything to your highlights.

When planning your trip, you can also access a summary of articles, reviews and photos from different places created by artificial intelligence. It’s available at Search Labs, Google’s testing center, which opened to the public in May — but there’s still a waiting list. Speaking of AI products, Bard will soon use Lens to make it easier to add images to prompts.
