Gurman Gives Glimpse of Apple’s Post-2023 iPhone Plans
Following the recent release of the iPhone 15, Apple has shifted its focus towards the future. During the Wonderlust event, the tech giant unveiled four new iPhone models – the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. These devices come equipped with exciting features like Dynamic Island, a USB Type-C port, an action button, and more. Additionally, Apple introduced the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Watch Ultra 2. Looking ahead, Apple has plans for numerous upcoming devices beyond 2023, as revealed by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
From the Apple Vision Pro, M3-powered Macs to the Apple Watch X, see everything Apple might release in the future.
1. Apple Vision Pro
Apple’s first mixed reality headset includes a unique spatial computing capability that allows users to experience apps and features in an augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) environment. According to Apple, the Vision Pro displays 23 million micro-OLED pixels, which means there are more pixels in an area the size of a postage stamp than a 4K TV! It also has 5 sensors and 12 cameras. All this technology is powered by a fan-cooled PC with an M2 chip and a new R1 chip running VisionOS. It has an external battery that lasts up to two hours and can be connected with a woven cable that you can easily put in your pockets.
2. Macs with M3
It has been rumored for some time now that Apple is planning to launch its next chipset, the M3, which may include four variants – M3, M3 Pro, M3 Max and M3 Ultra. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman previously noted that Apple was internally testing the M3-powered iMac, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and other Macs, but none of them saw the light of day at the September 12 Wonderlust event. According to reports, Apple could introduce M3-powered devices in October through a simple press release.
3. Apple Watch X
While Apple has already launched two new smartwatches – the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Watch Ultra 2 at the Wonderlust event, it is also said to be developing a special smartwatch to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Apple Watch. Called the Apple Watch X, the smartwatch may be the biggest update to the Apple Watch to date. It could get features like a MicroLED display, a blood pressure monitor and a magnetic strap attachment system.
4. New iPads
Apple will also update its iPad lineup soon, with reports claiming that M3-powered iPad Pros are already in the works, but likely won’t launch until 2024. Recent rumors have also hinted at a new iPad Air 6 set to hit the press this year . release, rather than a full-fledged release event.
5. Artificial intelligence tools
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported in July that Apple had developed its own version of ChatGPT, OpenAI’s popular generative AI chatbot. The company has already developed an internal service similar to ChatGPT, which helps employees test new features, condense text and answer questions based on the information they learn. The heart of this Large Language Model (LLM) work is a new framework called Ajax. An application similar to ChatGPT, nicknamed “Apple GPT”, is just one of the many possibilities that the Ajax framework can provide.
