Instagram Reels Introduces Stories-Style Functionality
Meta-owned photo and video sharing platform Instagram is rolling out a new feature that allows users to add song lyrics to their reels. This feature was previously available for Instagram Stories.
“New feature alert. We’re introducing a way to add song lyrics when you edit your reels, just like you can do in Stories,” Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri said on his channel.
“We’ve seen people add lyrics to reels manually, so I hope this makes it easier to use
music to express yourself. Stay tuned as we work on new updates to bring some creativity to the reels.” he added.
You can easily incorporate song lyrics into your Instagram feeds by following these simple steps:
– Tap the music button,
– Select a song
– New, swipe left to add lyrics to the selected song.
– Kelallasi is ready with lyrics.
The ability to add song lyrics has been a feature of Instagram Stories for quite some time. It’s unclear why it took Instagram so long to expand this feature to reels.
Recently, Instagram also introduced user-friendly tools for creating reels. These tools include improved templates and a template browser categorized into Featured, Trending, and Saved sections, making it easy for users to find the right template for their content.
Instagram, owned by Meta, is also said to be testing a new feature called “AI friend”. This feature allows users to create a personalized artificial intelligence (AI) powered imaginary friend in the app.
Noted leaker Alessandro Paluzzi took to screenshots shared by microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to say, “#Instagram is working on the ability to be an #AI friend.”
Based on the provided screenshots, users can customize the characteristics of their AI friend, such as gender (female, male or non-binary) and age (young, adult or elderly). Additionally, users can edit elements such as ethnicity, personality traits, and interests.
