Instagram users now also see ads in search results
Instagram has announced that it will place ads in the platform’s search results to reach people who are actively searching for businesses, products and content.
Ads appear in a feed that people can scroll through when they tap a post from search results. “We plan to launch this placement globally in the coming months,” the company said in a blog post.
Instagram also announced “reminder” ads that will be posted to all advertisers in the feed. The purpose of the change is to help advertisers increase awareness, anticipation and consideration of future moments.
“People can choose convenient reminders and receive three notifications from Instagram the day before the event, 15 minutes before the event and during the event,” Instagram said. People come to Instagram to learn about new brands, products or upcoming events.
The company said its goal is to give businesses more ways to be discovered and make meaningful connections. “We recently partnered with brands like Starz to test a new ad format that makes it easier for businesses to announce, remind and inform people about upcoming events or launches they might be interested in,” it added.
The photo and video sharing platform has added more and more ads over the years. Ads now appear on the Explore page, Explore feeds, reels, stories and even user profiles.
