Instagram’s new feature that allows users to access recently shared reels
Meta-owned Instagram is reportedly testing a new feature that will allow users to quickly access recently shared reels, making it easier to share them later with other friends.
The Turkish account Dijital Aglar shared a post about the feature, which shows that Instagram will display a line at the top of users’ DMs with a “Recent Shared” line, reports TechCrunch.
According to the report, screenshots posted by the account show that the shared messages also show the avatars of the friends you shared the reel with.
For example, if users share one short video multiple times, it will only appear once with the Avatar of the friend they last shared it with.
According to the report, the company also confirmed the development of this feature.
“We’re rolling out improvements to how you can search and rediscover reels that were previously shared in posts,” a Meta spokesperson said.
Last month, Meta introduced new broadcast channels on Instagram, a one-to-many communication tool that allows content creators to connect with their followers at large.
“Producers can also use Voice Memos to share the latest updates and behind-the-scenes moments, and even create polls to collect fan feedback,” the company said in a blog post.
