Leaked OnePlus 12 Renders Showcase Periscope Zoom Lens, Next-Gen Chip And More

Concept renders of the upcoming OnePlus flagship, possibly named the OnePlus 12, have started to emerge, despite the fact that it has only been approximately five months since the release of the OnePlus 11 series, which includes the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 11R, in India.

Tipster OnLeaks and publication MySmartPrix have shared renders of the alleged OnePlus 12, which show several changes compared to the current flagship OnePlus 11. The release notes that the renderings are based on a “test unit prototype.” The design is largely the same, with rounded camera modules and a frosted glass back, but one addition stands out – a periscope zoom lens.

Below the lens, which looks like a wide and ultra-wide lens, is a third lens that resembles the periscope zoom lenses found on other flagship phones like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and Pixel 7 Pro. However, the focal length and zoom capabilities of the lens are still unknown.

The OnePlus 12’s primary sensor is likely to be a 50-megapixel sensor – possibly a successor to Sony’s IMX989. It is expected to be paired with the previously mentioned periscope camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera.

So far, no OnePlus phone has had a periscope zoom lens. If the OnePlus 12 has one, it will be the company’s first phone with this feature.

According to MySmartPrix, the phone is powered by an as-yet-unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, has a 6.7-inch QHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, UFS 4.0 storage, and could ship with Android 14 out-of-the-box. .

The OnePlus 12 may cost more than Rs 55,000 at launch, as the base model of the OnePlus 11 already costs Rs 56,999.
