Logitech CEO Bracken Darrell Steps Down Following Sales Decline
Logitech SA announced on Tuesday that Bracken Darrell, the current Chief Executive Officer and President, will be stepping down from his position with immediate effect and will be departing from the company to explore a new opportunity.
Darrell, who took over as CEO of Logitech in 2013, will remain with the company for the next month to facilitate the transition while a replacement is sought, the statement said.
Meanwhile, board member Guy Getch will step in as interim CEO, the company said.
The management change comes after Logitech’s sales fell 22% in May in the fourth quarter as the deepening economic recession continued to prevent the computer peripherals maker from sustaining pandemic-era growth.
“I think this is a good time to hand over leadership,” Darrell said, adding that he remains a “customer, shareholder and fan” of the Swiss-American technology company.
