Manu Kumar Jain Named India CEO of Artificial Intelligence Firm After Leaving Xiaomi
Manu Kumar Jain, former VP of Xiaomi and co-founder of Jabong, has joined a new Abu Dhabi-based AI company called G42 as its India CEO.
Taking it to X (formerly Twitter), Manu Kumar Jain announced, “I am delighted to announce that I am joining G42, a leading global AI company, to launch a new AI venture in India! Together we will innovate, disrupt and push the boundaries of AI.”
He also acknowledged that AI in general has an important role to play in shaping India’s technology landscape and that the possibilities of AI are limitless.

Jain left Xiaomi as global vice president about eight months ago. During his nearly ten-year tenure at the Chinese mobile technology giant, Jain led the company’s operations in India and helped the company expand in the country. “Change is the only constant thing in life! For the past 9 years I have been blessed with so much love that it makes this goodbye so hard. Thank you all. The end of a journey also means the beginning of a new one, full of exciting possibilities. Cheers to a new adventure!” Jain had sent to X.
It remains to be seen what G42 will accomplish in India and abroad with Jain as its India CEO, but the company claims on its website that its AI research and recent collaboration with Microsoft (which happens to back ChatGPT creator OpenAI) “opens up new opportunities for digital transformation.”
