Microsoft is working on a new File Explorer feature in Windows 11: everything you need to know
Microsoft is reportedly developing a new gallery view for Windows 11 File Explorer that will allow users to browse photos by date and through a built-in search field.
This new gallery option can be accessed from File Explorer’s right sidebar, allowing users to view all their photos in one place, reports BleepingComputer.
It’s similar in some ways to the Microsoft Photos app, but Microsoft uses XAML (Extensible Application Markup Language) to bring the best of the web to desktop apps.
Extensible Application Markup Language is a declarative language widely used in applications to create user interfaces.
In addition, the new Gallery View is still under development and will be improved in a future release, the report says.
The report also mentioned that the Gallery view is optimized for touchscreen devices, and Microsoft may expand the integration to include users’ photos from OneDrive.
Meanwhile, Microsoft has announced that it is testing an improved volume mixer in Windows 11’s Quick Settings, which will allow users to quickly adjust the sound.
“The updated audio quick settings experience brings a modern volume mixer that allows for quick audio customization on a per-app basis with additional controls for switching devices on the fly,” said the tech giant.
