Mukesh Ambani Announces JioAirFiber Launch on Ganesh Chaturthi at RIL AGM
Reliance Industries’ chairman and managing director, Mukesh Ambani, revealed on Monday that the company has invested a record-breaking $150 billion over the past decade, making it the largest investment by any Indian corporation. Ambani also announced that JioAirFiber will be launched on Ganesh Chaturthi, September 19th.
Speaking at the company’s AGM, Ambani also said that Reliance has been a pioneer of the emerging new India. For the uninitiated, Jio Air Fiber promises to provide a fiber-like 5G network wirelessly. It can act as a personal Wi-Fi hotspot and provides network connectivity to every corner of the home with Jio True 5G.
“We’ve set seemingly impossible goals and achieved them,” he said.
Earlier it was revealed that Reliance Industries has appointed Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani and Anant Ambani as CEOs of the oil-telecom conglomerate.
Jio is one of India’s leading 5G data providers, and the company announced that its 5G network covers 96 percent of cities and plans to cover the entire country by December 2023. Ambani also announced that Jio’s customer base has crossed the 450 million subscriber mark. , whose turnover grew by more than 20 percent per year.
Ambani said that Jio was launched 7 years ago with the intention of transforming India into a Premier Digital Society. “We have invested our heart and soul in building a digital public infrastructure that the entire world has come to admire,” the RIL chairman added.
