Musk Confirms Grok AI Chatbot Will Be Available to All X Premium Users This Week
In an effort to embrace OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Elon Musk said Wednesday that the X platform will soon enable the “Grok” AI chatbot for more paying subscribers.
On X (formerly Twitter), the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX announced that Grok will be available to all Premium subscribers.
“Later this week, Grok will be rolling out to all premium subscribers (not just premium+”), the X owner said.
Last week, Musk-run XAI made its AI chatbot Grok available in open-source mode for developers and researchers. “We are publishing the weights and architecture of our 314 billion parameter Mixture-of-Experts model Grok-1,” the company said in a blog post.
The AI chatbot is now available on the open source developer platform GitHub.
Last year, XAI expanded Grok into India and 46 other countries, including Australia, Canada, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Singapore.
The microblogging platform has already released access to Grok AI (beta) for Premium+ subscribers in the US. According to the latest data from Sensor Tower, X usage in the US fell 18 percent (compared to the same period in 2022) and 23 percent after Musk’s purchase in October 2022.
Musk was also in the news this week talking about the new feature criteria for the Premium subscription. He mentioned that anyone with 2500 verified subscriber followers or 5000 verified subscriber followers can get free access to X Premium and X Premium+ subscription.
