New 4-in-1 Device ‘BeamO’ Allows At-Home Lung and Heart Checkup at CES 2024
CES 2024 is on the horizon, and like every year, there are many devices to look forward to. However, one particularly exciting category at the event is health technology equipment. This year we’re kicking things off with the new Beamo device from Withings.
Unveiled ahead of the event, it is a four-in-one home health monitor that can scan the heart and lungs by combining a thermometer, stethoscope, pulse oximeter and EKG into one device.
Priced at $249.95 (roughly Rs. 20,800), this ‘multiscope’ device lets you take an electrocardiogram (ECG), measure blood oxygen levels and even use its stethoscope to monitor lung and heart health.
Withings claims the Beamo can perform a full-body scan in less than a minute, checking for fever, infections and heart problems such as irregular heartbeats. This feature should make it easier to diagnose health problems and monitor general well-being.
In addition, the device allows you to transfer audio recordings of your lung scans from the stethoscope to the Withings app on your phone. This feature allows you to listen to the audio later and even share it with your healthcare provider.
While this device may not be significantly different from others such as the Apple Watch, what sets it apart is the combination of different functions in one device. However, it is important to note that the device is still awaiting FDA approval. However, the company estimates that it should be available for purchase in June of this year.
