Nokia T21 Tablet Review: The popular Finnish technology brand Nokia recently introduced its affordable tablet Nokia T21 to meet the needs of budget tablet consumers in India. With this move, Nokia aims to compete with other budget-friendly tablets available in the Indian market like Redmi Pad, Oppo Pad Air, Realme Pad X, Motorola Moto Tab G62 and others.
Nokia T21 price
The Nokia T21 is available in a single Charcoal Gray color variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The Wi-Fi model is priced at Rs 17,999, while the Wi-Fi + LTE variant is priced at Rs 18,999. We used this version for over a week and here is what I have to say about this new Nokia tablet. Both the Nokia T21 tablet and its predecessor T20 are quite similar in terms of features and price. The Nokia T21 offers slightly better specifications than the Nokia T20, but at a slightly higher price.
Nokia T21 Design
The Nokia T21 tablet is equipped with several impressive features such as Unisoc T612 processor, Android 12 operating system and 8200mAh battery with 18W fast charging. In terms of design and construction, the Nokia T21 has an aluminum body with an antenna cover made of 60% recycled plastic. The premium build quality offers a comfortable grip, and its size and weight are just right for long-term use without discomfort. At 7.5 mm thick and weighing 471 g, the T21 is slightly heavier, which is justified due to the large battery size.
A good design and an affordable price level will certainly attract potential buyers, especially among the younger generation. In addition, the tablet offers a lag-free experience even during longer use for gaming, streaming web series and multitasking. It has the power button on the top right corner while the volume buttons are on the right side. It has a removable compartment with a slot for microSD and SIM cards (for the WiFi-4G version). The device also has 4G LTE, NFC and other connection options. Overall, Nokia T21 is a promising offering from the company in the Indian market.
Nokia T21 display, camera and performance
The Nokia T21 features a 10.36-inch 2K IPS LCD panel with low blue light certification. Thanks to the screen size, the Nokia T21’s display is good for budget users. Indoors, the Nokia T21’s display can reach high brightness, providing clear visibility. Even when viewing in direct sunlight at maximum brightness, the screen maintains decent readability, but in direct sunlight you may encounter some heating issues. The colors on the T21’s screen came out well, making it a delightful experience to watch superior content. As for the speakers, the Nokia T21’s speakers are located in the upper and lower corners of the tablet. The tablet’s speakers produce crystal clear sound even at maximum volume without distortion. Streaming music on the T21 is a delightful experience.
As for the camera, the Nokia T21 has an 8-megapixel front camera and an 8-megapixel rear camera. The T21’s front-facing camera takes below-average selfies, while the 8-megapixel rear camera captures impressive images with great detail. The tablet is well suited for video calls, virtual office meetings and other similar functions.
In terms of technical specifications, the tablet has an octa-core Unisoc T612 processor, which is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which is expandable with a microSD card. The Nokia T21 runs Android 12 out of the box, and promises two years of major OS updates and three years of monthly security updates. Regarding performance – Considering that the T21 is an entry-level device, its performance is impressive.
The tablet works smoothly and efficiently, making it a reliable choice for users looking for a budget-friendly option. I enjoy watching movies and web series on various OTT platforms like Zee5 and Netflix and playing light games on the T21 tablet. Additionally, I’ve found it easy to switch between apps while performing normal tasks without lag. Overall, in the budget category, the tablet offered a smooth and seamless viewing and gaming experience without any hiccups.
In terms of battery performance, the Nokia T21 tablet with an 8200 mAh battery lasts nine to eleven hours of continuous gaming, streaming YouTube videos and other such activities. The tablet is estimated to last up to three days at a time. a charge it nearly reached with mixed usage. In addition, the tablet supports fast charging of up to 18 watts, and charging it from zero to full capacity took about three hours.
Nokia T21 Verdict
Priced under Rs 20,000 in India, the Nokia T21 tablet can be a good choice for users looking for an affordable and reliable device. Its large screen, decent speakers, impressive battery and consistent performance make it a versatile option for everyday use. When comparing the Redmi Pad and Nokia T21 tablets, the Redmi Pad can be a good choice for those looking for better performance and more storage options, while the Nokia T21 is a decent option for those looking for a more affordable device with faster charging capabilities.
