OnePlus 12 Display Outshines iPhone 15 Pro and Pixel 8 Pro in Brightness
The OnePlus 12 is set to become the company’s next flagship phone – the successor to the OnePlus 11, which was released earlier this year in February. Now, the BBK-owned company has revealed the device’s display specifications after several leaks and rumors have already surfaced about the next OnePlus mainline flagship.
During OnePlus’ recent conference, it was revealed that the OnePlus 12 will feature a QHD+ (1440 x 3168) AMOLED display made by BOE. It supports a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, making it brighter than some recent flagships, including the iPhone 15 Pro (2,000 nits) and the Pixel 8 Pro (2,400 nits). In addition, the screen has received an A+ rating from DisplayMate. This panel is called “X1 Oriental Screen”.
ABOE also stated that the panel would consume 13% less power compared to outgoing OLED panels and is estimated to last twice as long as conventional OLED panels.
In addition to the details of the OnePlus 12, during the joint press conference of OnePlus, Oppo and BOE, details of the display of the OnePlus Ace were also revealed. It also has a BOE panel with DisplayMate’s A+ certification and, along with the OnePlus 12, it has Oppo’s P1 display chip.
In other news, the OnePlus 12 has been confirmed to run on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which was unveiled a couple of days ago at the Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii. Not much is known about the cameras yet, but it should have at least a triple lens with wide, ultra-wide and telephoto. OnePlus is expected to launch the OnePlus 12 sometime between the end of this year and the beginning of next year.
