Paradox Interactive to Provide Refunds for Pre-Orders of ‘Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2’
Today, Paradox Interactive declared that it will reimburse all physical pre-orders for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. The sequel to the 2004 fan-favorite game has faced numerous delays and was last available for pre-sales in early 2021. Paradox revealed that it was ending its partnership with developer Hardsuit Labs and postponing the game’s release date indefinitely. Nevertheless, there is a possibility that those who have been waiting for the game may receive good news in September, as the publisher hinted at more updates about the vampire-themed game.
Paradox says it’s refunding pre-orders because the previous physical version contained bonus content “no longer representative of the game.” Physical variants include the Collector’s Edition, created and sold by DPA Merchandising GmbH, and boxed versions of First Blood, Unsanctioned, and Blood Moon. In addition, Paradox will issue a digital pre-order refund to anyone who requests it. Refund instructions vary depending on where you ordered it from, but you can check the store-specific instructions in the Paradox FAQ.
“As development continues, we’ll be updating the game’s versions and bonus content, and we want to offer the best value to those of you who supported us through digital pre-order after all this time,” Paradox wrote today. “We’re excited to show you more and hope to have you all on board in September as we reveal more.”
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 was originally slated for 2020 before being pushed to 2021 and then shelved indefinitely after Paradox fired the game’s creative director and lead writer. The publisher has yet to announce the title’s new developer, although it says it will let us know in September as well. As for the updated release date, Paradox doesn’t specifically promise it in its September announcements, but it assures players that it will “share more information about the release” at that time.
