Samsung is bringing the new feature to its Health app to select markets for now, which is only talking about the US when the app gets another update by the end of this month. The medicine feature is also useful for people who need to be reminded when supplies are running low and need extra help from medics.
It goes a step further by telling you the details of the medication you’re taking, whether it has any side effects, and even alerting you if something isn’t right about the pills you’ve been given. Samsung has taken expert help from a company called Elsevier, which deals with medical content.
So what does it take to use this medication feature on Android? Samsung says you must have a phone with Android 8.0 or higher, use the updated Samsung Health app version 6.26 or higher. One thing to note is that the medicine feature of the health app may vary depending on the phone you are using.
