‘Spider-Man 2’ Trailer Reveals Increased Presence of Venom, Villains and Intrigue
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to release on PlayStation 5 in a mere three months, but eager fans won’t have to wait that long to uncover details about the game’s storyline. During the San Diego Comic Con, Sony and Insomniac treated us to a captivating story trailer, offering a glimpse into Peter Parker’s potential encounter with the Venom symbiote.
The trailer is full of dramatic tension. Peter’s best friend Harry Osborne wants to enlist his help to “heal the world”. Meanwhile, Spider-Man has his hands full with Kraven the Huntsman — and as the trailer progresses, a voice-over emerges describing a distraught Peter Parker, presumably losing himself to the Venom symbiote and desperately needing the help of his fellow spider. – Man, Miles Morales. The story teaser leaves us with an image of Venom terrorizing the city and the open question of who the symbiote has fused with.
Alongside the intense story trailer, Sony has announced a special edition Spider-Man 2 PlayStation 5 and DualSense controller combo – both featuring the dark tentacles of the Venom symbiote crawling over the red colors of Spider-Man’s suit. Already have a PS5? Sony says the special edition controller and PS5 console covers will also be available for purchase via PlayStation Direct on September 1st.
Marvel’s Spider-Man will be available on October 20, 2023.
