PlayStation 5 could go on sale in India from mid-January, pre-orders by the end of December
There could finally be some good news for PlayStation 5 (PS5) fans in India. Sony could finally start selling its latest console in the country by mid-January, according to reports. The Mako Reactor has signaled that Sony could start taking pre-orders for the PS5 by the end of the month.
However, the report adds that stocks for the PS5 might not be very good, and if you’re looking to buy the console offline, it might be a tough task.
Sony centers across India have reportedly said they plan to start taking pre-orders by the end of December and that the first stocks of the console will hit shelves by the middle of next month. According to the report, some stores have already started accepting pre-order payments. However, Sony has yet to make an official announcement in this case.
The report also adds that initial stocks of the PS5 will be limited to metropolitan cities only, so if you don’t live in one of them, you might have to wait longer to get your hands on the console.
Also, if you’re looking to buy the PS5 Digital Edition, your wait could be even longer and Sony is seeing a drop in demand for this discless model.
Sony has struggled with PS5 stocks around the world with the console sold out in most places. While this isn’t a new phenomenon for Sony and its history with consoles, the pandemic has made matters worse this year for supplies and inventory.
So if you are looking to get a PS5 for yourself, we suggest you pre-book one as soon as pre-bookings are open.
