PM Modi Launches 7th Edition of India Mobile Congress 2023 in Delhi
On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened the 7th Edition of the India Mobile Congress, which took place at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
The Prime Minister was seen interacting with a representative of leading telecom companies. Akash Ambani, chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, accompanied the Prime Minister as he explained to the Prime Minister the work his company was doing in the field of telecommunications.
He explained Reliance Jio’s Space Fiber initiative, which is capable of operating at speeds of up to 1 Gbps. A Jio Bharat device offering 4G services is also on display at the Jio pavilion.
Bharti Enterprises Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal also interacted with the Prime Minister. At Mobile Congress, Bharti Enterprises will showcase the future of innovation with technologies such as 5G Plus, AI-enabled technology and other digital infrastructure.
Earlier, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited introduced India’s first satellite-based gigafiber service ‘JioSpaceFiber’, which provides high-speed broadband services to previously unreachable geographical areas in India. Jio introduced its new satellite broadband.
During the event, PM Modi will also award 100 5G Use Case Labs set up in educational institutions across India as part of the 100 5G Labs initiative.
This initiative aims to harness the potential of 5G technology by promoting the development of 5G applications tailored to India’s unique requirements and global requirements.
By encouraging innovation across sectors including education, agriculture, healthcare, power and transport, the initiative will push India to the forefront of the use of 5G technology.
In addition, it plays a key role in preparing the country’s academic and startup ecosystem for the upcoming 6G era, which will significantly contribute to the development of original telecommunications technology important for national security.
Speaking at the event, Union Minister for Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw said the Prime Minister’s vision was for technology that is democracy.
“PM Modi’s vision is that technology is democratized and people-centric and paves the way for the development of society. With this vision, PM Modi has transformed the telecom industry,” the Union minister said.
India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2023, which will be held from 27 to 29 October, is Asia’s largest telecommunications, media and technology forum. It provides a platform to showcase India’s significant advancements in telecom and technology, make major announcements and provide start-ups with an opportunity to showcase innovative products and solutions.
With the theme ‘Global Digital Innovation’, IMC 2023 aims to strengthen India’s position as a developer, manufacturer and exporter of cutting-edge technology including 5G, 6G, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and a critical debate on semiconductor-related issues. industry, green technology and cyber security.
This year, IMC introduces a startup program called Aspire, which facilitates connections between startups, investors and established companies, promoting fresh entrepreneurial initiatives and collaborative projects.
More than one million participants from 22 countries are expected at the event, including around 5,000 CEO-level representatives, 230 exhibitors, 400 startups and various stakeholders.
