Posting GIFs and Polls is Now Available to Threads Users – Here’s the Process
Good news for Threads users, the Meta-owned microblogging platform has released two new features to its platform. The CEO of Meta adopted Threads and released the ability to post GIFs and polls. These features are currently available online.
Previously, users had to use third-party keyboards or copy/paste from other sources to send GIFs to the app, leading to inconsistent results. But the platform has introduced a built-in GIF button in the post creation window.
Located next to the image gallery button, this feature allows users to access the easily searchable GIPHY library and choose from a variety of GIFs for their posts.
“With polls, you can invite others to think about topics that interest you. And now it’s easier to find and add the right GIF to express your feelings,” Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri said.
Polls can have up to four options and choose who can answer them. The survey is open for 24 hours, and only those who participated can see the results when they arrive. The survey button appears as three horizontal lines in the toolbar after creation.
To post a GIF to Threads, please update to the latest version of Threads. Now open the app and tap on the message button located at the bottom. Next, select the GIF option. When you tap the GIF icon, it will open the GIPHY library. Select GIF. Finally, post it on Threads.
To create a poll in threads, open the Threads app and click the submit button at the bottom. Now tap on the Polls icon which is the last one in the list of options you see when you submit. Now you can add a title and make survey options. Note that you can make four survey options. Finally, tap on the message to post the survey. It is important to note that the survey is there for 24 hours.
