President Murmu’s Boost to India’s Standing: ISRO’s Aditya-L1 and Gaganyaan Missions!
President Droupadi Murmu, in a crucial speech at the inauguration of the International Conference on ‘Aerospace and Aviation in 2047,’ underscored the profound influence of India’s forthcoming Aditya-L1 and Gaganyaan missions. President Murmu stressed their capacity to elevate India’s international reputation and expressed assurance that these missions would not only strengthen research endeavors but also make valuable contributions to the betterment of mankind.
Acknowledging India’s past achievements, including the successful Mars mission and lunar exploration, President Murmu highlighted the country’s determination, potential and capability. He praised the commitment to high quality standards, cost efficiency and punctuality in all projects, ANI reported.
However, he also understood the challenges ahead, especially in the transformation phase of the aerospace industry. President Murmu emphasized the importance of human resource skills and retraining for future needs.
President Murmu also thanked the Aeronautical Society of India for its transformative role and thanked its 75-year journey and contribution to shaping the aviation industry. He congratulated the members of the society for their outstanding contribution.
The theme of the conference ‘Aerospace and Aviation in 2047 – 75 Years of Advanced Aeronautics in India – Achievements, Challenges and Beyond’ covers several critical topics including green initiatives, impact of artificial intelligence and robotics, human capital development and empowerment of women in industries and encouraging new businesses creative distractions.
President Murmu highlighted the commendable initiative of Startup Quest 2023, which offers prototype grants to innovative startup companies. He also recalled former President APJ Kalam’s call for self-reliance in aerospace systems and noted the significant strides made in the last decade, which include policies such as the U-Dan (Urban Area Connectivity System) and encouragement of SMEs.
Speaking about urgent climate change, President Murmu emphasized the importance of reducing carbon dioxide emissions in airplanes. He emphasized the urgent need to introduce new propulsion technologies such as electric, hydrogen and hybrid technology to reduce the carbon footprint.
