Pricey Samsung 85-inch Outdoor Terrace Television Set
Samsung has expanded its Terrace outdoor TV line by introducing an 85-inch Terrace Full Sun set, which comes with a hefty price tag of $20,000. This new addition features a Neo QLED screen that is designed to maintain brightness even in direct sunlight. The TV also includes “Direct-Sun Protection” to ensure its safety. Samsung claims that the TV can withstand up to six hours of sunlight at 700 watts and 104 degrees Fahrenheit, although it may reduce brightness in response to extreme temperatures and sun conditions.
That heat threshold may seem high, but with more than a dozen cities in the southern US breaking their high temperature records this year, it may not be enough to protect your $20,000 TV. The 85-inch Terrace also has an improved IP56 rating for water and dust resistance. (Maybe just think twice about hosting a movie night during a heat wave or summer storm.)
If you don’t need such a huge screen out there, you also have some other options from Samsung. The 65-inch Full Sun Terrace is now on sale for $6,500, while the 75-inch is $9,000. You can also save a little more with the Partial Sun Terrace kits, which are designed for shady areas and start at $3,000 for a 55-inch model.
