Quest+ VR Subscription Service Takes Aim at Apple with Launch of New Service
On Monday, Meta Platforms introduced Meta Quest+, a paid service for its VR headsets, aimed at developing a new and costly market.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on his Instagram social media broadcast that Meta Quest+ subscriptions will be available starting Monday for $7.99 a month or $59.99 a year for its Quest 2, Pro, and soon Quest 3.
Apple has entered the Meta-dominated market with the introduction of a $3,499 augmented reality headset called the Vision Pro. Still, Apple’s headphones are three times more expensive than Meta’s most expensive headphones.

In March, Meta had reduced the prices of its headphones, because its bold contributions to the metaverse failed to gain a great reputation.
The social media company’s flagship VR headset, the Meta Quest Pro, is currently $999.99, down from its launch price of $1,499.99, and the Quest 2 retails for $299.99, according to Meta’s website.
Touted as the next big thing, the adoption of virtual reality headsets has been limited to the gaming community, despite the devices now having more advanced features.
