Record-Breaking Viewership for Chandryaan-3 Live Stream on YouTube
Yesterday, India achieved a moment of great pride as Chandrayaan-3 successfully touched down on the moon, making India the fourth country to accomplish this feat. The global community joined in the celebration of this remarkable achievement. Additionally, the live stream of Chandrayaan-3 on YouTube created history by becoming the most-watched live stream worldwide, and it seems highly unlikely that this record will be surpassed anytime soon. Discover how the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) surpassed all previous missions with the remarkable Chandrayaan-3 endeavor.
Chandrayaan-3 live broadcast
The Chandrayaan-3 mission was broadcast live on various platforms on August 23. The live broadcast of the task attracted millions of viewers to watch history being made. People around the world witnessed the amazing moment of the spacecraft landing on the moon. Surprisingly, on YouTube, it measured 80 lakh Peak Concurrent Viewers (PCVs), Sacnilk reported.
According to the report, the second most watched live stream now is FIFA World Cup 2022, Brazil vs. Croatia, which had secured a peak of 61,000,000 concurrent viewers. Then in third place we have the Brazil vs. South Korea soccer World Cup match with 52,000 views.
Next in the Chandrayaan-3 mission
Now that the lander has landed safely on the surface of the Moon, the next big step in the mission is the 26-kilogram rover that will roll on the surface of the Moon to study the atmosphere. It moves at a speed of 1 centimeter per second. The installed instruments also study the moon’s rocks and soil, and the rover’s navigation camera scans the surface.
The Pragyan rover has two payloads: APXS – Alpha Particle X-Ray Spectrometer and -Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscope (LIBS). Each performs different tasks while exploring the lunar surface. APXS will analyze the chemical and mineral composition to gather more comprehensive information about the lunar surface. On the other hand, LIBS studies the composition of soil and rock near the landing site.
The rover will actively roam the surface for 14 days and provide the researcher with insights from all the data collected.
ISRO posted this on X: “Chandrayaan-3 ROVER: Made in India, Made for the MOON! Ch-3 Rover landed from Lander and India walked on moon! More updates soon.”
