Samsung Galaxy S24 May Have Titanium Build Like iPhone 15 Pro
Apple introduced a titanium body with the iPhone 15 Pro series this year, and it looks like the brand’s closest competitor is ready to follow in its footsteps. According to reports, Samsung will also use titanium material in its upcoming Galaxy S24 series. The new Galaxy flagship phones are expected to be announced at the Galaxy Unpacked event in early 2024.
One tipster named Revengus on X has suggested that unlike Apple, Samsung could go full titanium for the Galaxy S24 models, which should also include a vanilla and Plus version. However, they note that Samsung could manufacture the titanium bezels for the S24, while the titanium bezels for the S24 Plus and S24 Ultra could be sourced from partners. Another tip suggests that Samsung will only bring titanium to the Ultra variant, which sounds more realistic.
Apple’s decision to use titanium in the Pro models has helped the company reduce the weight of the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, which should not be the case with Samsung, which already uses aluminum to negate the weight effect.
It should also be taken into account that the titanium body can be less durable compared to the materials used by Samsung, as we have seen in several iPhone 15 Pro Max drop tests recently. In fact, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra performed better in these tests, as the materials used to make the phone ensured that it would not break into pieces quickly.
In addition to using titanium, Samsung is also expected to bring satellite technology to the new Galaxy S24 series, as Apple released with the iPhone 14 models in 2022. The company could partner with a satellite technology provider to enable emergency calling and messaging. for users in selected markets. The company is also rumored to be working on its first Galaxy Smart Ring, which could be part of a 2024 launch.
