Samsung announced the global availability of a new smart monitor on Monday. The device is available in two versions – M7 with Ultra High Definition (UHD) resolution in 32 inch size and M5 with Full HD resolution in 32 inch and 27 inch. Samsung Smart Monitor will be available in the United States from today. It is also available in China and Canada. The company plans to roll out the device in more markets from the end of November.
Samsung Smart Monitor runs on the Tizen operating system. The Wi-Fi enabled monitor also allows you to stream content from OTT apps like YouTube, Netflix, Apple TV, etc. without the need for any external hardware. The display also supports HDR 10. It also supports Apple’s AirPlay 2.
The smart monitor has an adaptive image to optimize image quality for different viewing environments. The technology allows the device to automatically adjust the brightness and color temperature.
This ensures the most comfortable viewing experience in any environment, reducing eye strain even after prolonged use. The monitor also has a special eye save mode to reduce blue light, Samsung said in a post.
For productivity-oriented users, Samsung Smart Monitor comes with DeX support allowing you to use the monitor as a desktop. For home and office learning, it supports Microsoft 365 applications without the need for a PC connection. It comes with USB Type-C, multiple USB ports as well as Bluetooth 4.2 for connectivity.
Samsung also offers a remote control for easier access to content. The remote comes with streaming service keyboard shortcuts. Bixby integration allows users to control the device via voice commands.
The M7 model comes with a 16: 9 flat screen display with 178 degree viewing angle. It supports 65W fast charging. The M5 model also has an aspect ratio of 16: 9 and a viewing angle of 178 degrees. Both versions support HDR 10.
