Samsung May Unveil Galaxy Smart Ring at Galaxy S24 Launch Event

The Samsung Galaxy S24 event at the beginning of next year promises to be a success, not only because the new Galaxy S24 smartphone will be unveiled, but also because a new product category will be introduced to the world. According to a tipster’s post, the South Korean brand could use the next Galaxy Unpacked event in January 2024 to unveil the first ever Galaxy Ring to the world.

We don’t know much about Samsung’s product yet, but all signs point to the smart ring definitely having a future, all too soon. the company received a patent for the smart ring back in 2015, which means that Samsung has always wanted to have a product in this form.

The recent explosion in this segment means that Samsung may have strong grounds to explore the category, and getting a patent for the device and the name Galaxy Ring will take them pretty far.

The patent for the device explained that the smart ring allows you to control smart home devices, dim lights and other functions simply by twisting the ring around your wrist.

A Reddit user spotted the Galaxy Ring in the Samsung Health Beta app earlier this year. And since the device is listed on the Health platform, it’s likely that Samsung could improve the features of the rumored Galaxy Ring and offer health tracking on the device as well. The tipster claims that Samsung could introduce the smart ring as the primary health tracker, pushing the Galaxy Watch lineup to the background.

Samsung probably won’t be the last tech giant to enter the smart tire market. Apple is also rumored to be eyeing this space and may introduce its products in the coming years. It goes without saying that the ring’s potential for effective health monitoring is quite good, as you can wear it like a normal ring without it getting in the way. But the alerts buzz on your fingers, which would take some getting used to when the product becomes official.
