Say Goodbye to Free Evernote: What You Need to Know Now

Evernote, a popular note-taking app used by professionals and students, is known for its wide range of features and compatibility with various platforms. It offers both free and paid versions, with both providing a decent set of features. However, this may soon change as the company is currently testing a new plan that restricts free users to only 50 notes and 1 notebook. It seems that the era of freebies on Evernote may be coming to an end.

According to a report by TechCrunch, Evernote has started testing this new free user plan with a very small number of users to verify the plan’s functionality. TechCrunch learned about the test through a selected user. According to the report, the user “logged in to a pop-up message informing them that unless they upgraded to a paid plan, they would now be limited to just one notebook and 50 notes.”

The company confirmed to TechCrunch that the test is being done on less than 1% of its free users and that the change is not yet final, which is why the website still reflects the older description. If finalized, Evernote will notify the appropriate customer contact points of the changes.

Evernote also said that even if this change is implemented, it won’t prevent free a-through.

Currently, free users get 60MB of monthly downloads with a maximum size of 25MB, but no limit on the number of notes or notebooks. There are also other features like 3 home screen widgets, searchability and more. In addition to the free plan, the company also has a paid personal and professional plan that can be paid monthly or annually. Personal plan costs Rs. 449 for 10GB monthly downloads and 200MB maximum note, and a pro will pay Rs. 519 for 20GB monthly shipment. The professional plan also has collaboration and integration features.
