The popular instant messaging app WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is reportedly developing a feature that displays profile information in chats. This profile information is also displayed when the contact is offline, alternating with last seen if available.

“Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.25.11 update available on the Google Play Store, we noticed that WhatsApp tends to display profile information in our chats,” WhatsApp tracking website WABetaInfo reported.

The report suggested that the initiative to improve the visibility of profile information in conversations emphasizes WhatsApp’s responsiveness to user feedback and preferences. Over the years, many users have shared their feedback to request a similar feature, and the instant messaging app is finally improving the overall user experience.

“We believe that displaying profile information in our conversations provides users with an easier and more immediate way to engage with that information,” WABetaInfo said.

According to the report, users will soon be able to view profile information directly in the chat, so there is no need to switch to the chat information screen.

This improvement ensures quick visibility, especially when someone has recently updated their profile information, allowing others in the conversation to keep up with the changes. It is worth noting that this information is only visible based on the user’s privacy settings.

The feature is currently under development and is expected to be included in a future app update.

WhatsApp is also planning to introduce a new feature that will allow channel owners to request a review of their frozen channel. This improvement makes the process more transparent, as channel owners can seek clarifications and address potential violations more effectively.

This additional layer of information not only improves the review process, but also provides valuable insights to WhatsApp moderators, facilitating faster and more accurate assessment of the situation.
