Send High-Definition Photos On WhatsApp Coming Soon

WhatsApp users can look forward to a new feature that will allow them to send high-quality photos on their iPhones and Android devices. According to reports, the popular instant messaging app owned by Meta is set to release this feature, which is expected to enhance the overall user experience when sharing images.

With this feature, Meta-owned WhatsApp makes it easier to share images with better quality by preserving their dimensions.

“We announced that WhatsApp is developing a new media sharing feature: photo quality. After installing the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.11.0.76 from TestFlight and WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.12.13 from the Google Play Store, some beta testers may see a new option to control photo quality,” WABetaInfo said.

According to the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, it is possible to choose a better quality when uploading images, and the option only appears when you select a large photo. Although this feature preserves the image dimensions, the image still uses a small compression, so sending images in their original quality is not possible.

The default setting is always ‘Standard quality’ for all images, so users must select the HD option whenever they want to send a higher image quality.

When you send a photo with the “high quality” option, it will be marked as a high quality photo, so a new tag will automatically be added to the message bubble. This information also helps the recipient understand when a photo is sent using this feature.

It’s worth noting that this feature is limited to images shared in your conversations. This means that you cannot send a video in higher quality without sending it as a document, and this feature is not available when sharing photos using status updates.

The ability to send HD photos is rolling out to some beta testers who install the latest WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store and WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app, and is rolling out to more users soon. a week.
