Sony Raises Price of One-Year PlayStation Plus Plan
Sony PlayStation Plus subscription prices will increase if you take an annual plan from the company. The new price of PlayStation Plus annual packages has come into effect from September 1.
The PlayStation Plus subscription offers a wide range of benefits for PS gamers, and you have different tiers of the plan that have their own benefits. Sony will take care of PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra and Premium annual subscriptions, which were previously $60, $100 and $120.
With the PS Plus Essential package, players get two free downloadable games per month, access to online multiplayer, save games to the cloud and games at attractive discounts. Sony now charges $80 (roughly Rs. 6,500) for an annual plan at this level.
Coming to PS Plus Extra, Sony offers all the benefits of the Essential tier, but also gets access to the PS4 and PS5 game catalog. This plan now costs $135 (roughly Rs. 11,070) for the same period.
And finally, you have the Premium package, now priced at $160 (roughly Rs. 13,120), which gives you everything that Essential and Extra subscribers get, but also gives you the option to play games that are compatible with PS One: n, PS2 and PS3. and even a PSP that lets you play them via Sony’s cloud service.
Sony says the new pricing will take effect when you renew or sign up for either of these PS Plus plans. The changes will take effect in all PS markets, while the 1-month and 3-month packages will be available at the same price.
