Spotify shuts down Live Audio, is the clubhouse trend over?
Spotify has announced that it is shutting down its live audio app “Spotify Live”.
However, the company said it will continue to explore live features on its main platform, reports TechCrunch.
Music Ally was the first to report the news.
“After experimenting and learning how Spotify users interact with live audio, we’ve made the decision to discontinue Spotify Live,” the spokesperson said.
“We believe there is a future in the Spotify ecosystem with live fan-creator interaction; however, what we’ve learned is that it no longer makes sense as a standalone app. We’ve seen promising results in the artist-centric ‘listening party’ use case, which we’re continuing to explore to facilitate live interaction between artists and fans.” “, it added.
In April 2022, the company integrated live audio features from its companion app Spotify Greenroom into Spotify’s main streaming app and renamed Greenroom as “Spotify Live,” the report said.
Meanwhile, Spotify has said it is testing a redesign of user profiles, including a card-style layout that will allow users to create more of a social identity on the platform while providing easy access to its unique features such as personalized recommendations, Connect playlists, a collaborative listening experience and more.
