Today, January 10, witnessed significant advancements in the realm of artificial intelligence (AI). Eros Investments, in collaboration with the Government of Gujarat, unveiled the Immerso AI Park in GIFT City, aiming to establish it as a hub for cutting-edge research, development, and innovation in deep technology. However, the Mahindra Formula E team faced backlash on social media for introducing an AI avatar. Additionally, Nvidia disclosed that its partner Yotta will establish a data center in GIFT City by March’s conclusion.

1. Mahindra faces criticism after launching an AI influencer
The Mahindra Formula E team drew flak after featuring an AI-generated female influencer on their social media page. According to a Reuters report, the AI influencer is named Ava and has a separate Instagram account. However, much to Mahindra’s dismay, it immediately drew criticism. “So many available, talented women in the real world who eat, breathe and sleep motorsports… and yet we should be cheering for AI,” one user commented.
2. The world’s biggest short-term threat is AI-fueled misinformation, says WEF
The World Economic Forum (WEF) stated on Wednesday that artificial intelligence-based disinformation is the world’s biggest short-term threat. According to the AP report, the WEF published the Global Risks report, in which false information and disinformation are the most serious risks in the next two years. Carolina Klint, director of risk management at Marsh, said: “You can leverage AI to do deep fakes and really influence large groups, which really drives misinformation.”
3. Amnet Digital launches an AI-based analytics platform
Amnet Digital, which manufactures data, analytics and artificial intelligence solutions, announced on Wednesday that it will release an artificial intelligence-based analytics platform. According to the release, Swift Insights aims to accelerate businesses with data-driven insights and make informed decisions through intuitive dashboards. It gets features like AI Analytics, Report Management and Business Insights. Krishna Reddy, CEO, Amnet Digital said, “Our AI-powered analytics platform underscores Amnet Digital’s commitment to technical innovation and excellence in the data, analytics and AI space.”
4. Immerso AI Park launched by Eros Investments
Eros Investments, in partnership with the Gujarat government, announced the launch of the Immerso AI Park on Wednesday. According to the release, this AI Park will become the foundation and backbone of deep technology research, development and innovation. It will be built on the foundation of ethical AI and will have an archive of licensed training data and tokens from Eros Investment Group and other partners to promote the use of intellectual property rights in the development of generative AI models. Immerso AI Park also includes Immerso AI University and Immerso AI Data Center.
5. Artificial intelligence data center to be built in GIFT City: Nvidia
American chipmaker Nvidia on Wednesday announced that its partner Yotta will deploy an artificial intelligence data center in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) before the end of March. According to a PTI report, Shankar Trivedi, vice president of Nvidia Global Field Operations, said at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit that Nvidia is partnering with Reliance and Tata Group to set up data centers. “I am very happy to announce that our partner Yotta is setting up a state-of-the-art AI data center here in GIFT City, and it will be available and launched before the end of March,” he said.
