Twitter Blue Badge Still Exist? Elon Musk is now making this new change
Twitter was supposed to remove the old blue ticks from verified accounts on April 1st, as Elon Musk recently announced. It’s April 3rd today and millions of old verified accounts still have the blue badge on their profile.
That’s not all, these people are seeing a change in the way their Blue badge is defined. Users with both the old blue badge and those who have paid for Twitter Blue will see this written due to their status.
It looks like Musk and Co. are struggling to remove the blue badge from millions of Twitter users and somehow let people decide whether they want to pay for Twitter Blue or keep a verified account until the company finds a way to remove them all. This notice says, “This account has been verified because it is subscribed to Twitter Blue or is an old verified account.”
Not sure why Musk changed this in Verified Accounts, and what it means for those with a blue tick before Twitter asked them to pay for the feature. We’re sure Elon will have the answers in the form of a tweet very soon (he usually will), and until then, old verified account users can enjoy their free Blue badge accounts.
As you may know, Twitter has expanded its Blue subscription service to several countries in recent months. The service now includes benefits such as an edit button with a tweet, support for uploading 1080p videos, a verified ID, and increased inferred reach with improved algorithms.
In India, Twitter Blue costs Rs 900 per month for mobile users, and online Blue registration costs Rs 650 per month. The price for companies is much higher at $1,000 (roughly Rs. 82,000), but companies in the top 10,000 visibility charts do not need to pay a fee to get a gold token on their account. Twitter has been making a lot of changes under Elon Musk, and this isn’t the last we’ll see the platform announce.
