Unlock the Secret: Change Your UPI PIN Easily on PayTM, Google Pay and PhonePe!
Unified Payments Interface (UPI), a real-time payment system developed by NPCI, allows users to pay using their phone number or VPA. UPI has played a key role in the rise of digital transactions in India. Popular payment apps like Google Pay, PhonePe and Paytm in India also offer a quick and simple UPI process that allows you to make real-time payments in India in seconds.
However, with the recent rise in online scams and UPI fraud, it is important to protect your UPI transactions by creating a strong UPI PIN and changing it regularly.
As the UPI PIN is one of the most important steps in completing a UPI transaction, it is important that you decide it carefully and keep it confidential.
Never share your UPI PIN with anyone else you may easily become a victim of fraudsters. You can change your UPI PIN on PayTM, Google Pay and PhonePe by following these simple tips.
To change your UPI PIN using Google Pay:
– Open Google Pay.
– Tap your photo in the upper right corner.
– Tap Bank account.
– Tap the bank account you want to edit.
– Tap on More Change UPI PIN.
– Create a new UPI PIN.
– Enter the same UPI PIN again.
UPT PIN reset in the PhonePe app
– Open the PhonePe app
– Tap your profile picture on the PhonePe home screen.
– Select a bank account from the Payment methods section by scrolling to the right.
– Tap Reset UPI PIN under that account.
– Enter your bank/debit card details for that account.
– Enter the 6-digit OTP that you will receive as an SMS to your registered mobile number.
– Enter the 4-digit ATM PIN of your bank/ATM card.
– Enter the new 4 or 6 digit BHIM UPI PIN you want to set on the account.
– Confirm the PIN code by entering it again.
– Tap Confirm.
Changing UPI PIN in Paytm App
– Open Paytm on your mobile.
– Tap on the ‘Profile’ icon on the top left corner of the Paytm mobile app
– In the left sidebar that opens, scroll to “Payment settings” and click on it
– Next click on UPI & Linked Bank Accounts option and you will see the list of your linked bank accounts.
– Click on the ‘Change PIN’ option under the bank account whose PIN code you want to change
– For security reasons, you will be asked to enter the last 6 digits of your debit card and its expiration date
– Click “Continue”
– Enter the old UPI PIN and then enter the new UPI PIN you want to set.
– Confirm the process and continue.
– You will receive a notification of a change in the UPI PIN code!
