Upgrades Coming to WhatsApp Channels – Here’s What You Need to Know

WhatsApp, a platform owned by Meta, recently added the Channels feature to its app in September. Users have been using this space to share various content such as updates, advertisements, and news. Now, the company is preparing to enhance user interaction and engagement by introducing additional features to WhatsApp Channels. If you are a regular user of WhatsApp Channels and want to stay informed, find out what new features the messaging app will be introducing.

New features of WhatsApp channel

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp Channel may be developing or testing new voice messages and sticker features. However, the feature is under development and has not yet been released as part of beta testing, but may be released in a future app update. The source said that these features were spotted in the WhatsApp beta version of the Android 2.23.23.2 update.

If these new features come to the app in the future, this will give admins more control over how to communicate with their audience and provide a better way to connect with channel followers. This will also attract new followers or audiences, making it more interesting. Additionally, Meta offers WhatsApp channel administrators a new way to see how their contacts interact with channel updates. Now the new Contacts tab on the reaction sheet shows admins which of their contacts reacted to the update with an emoji. This feature is not available to regular subscribers, they can only see the number of reactions for each emoji. This feature allows administrators to regularly improve the quality and type of content they share. The new Contacts tab is now in beta testing and will be available to all users soon.

Meta is now paying a lot of attention to its messaging application WhatsApp and is trying to diversify the use of the application. Bringing features to Channels could be a step forward in improving app performance and attracting more active users.
